He starts seeing her as a woman, and he starts falling in love with this woman. I’ve said before that I’m not normally a fan balgoh the inclusion of children in romance novels and it’s not because I don’t like kids – I have two of my own! Mary Balogh did a wonderful job of making her characters like onions, as you read you start to peel away another layer that makes you understand them more. Later, Fairfax thinks Jane is not unattractive but it’s after she becomes engaged to another that he begins balogu think of her as pretty.

It was really quite a sweet book, but then suddenly the hero is fondling the heroine and stripping her dress down and it lost a lot of offeer magic for me. She seemed eager for it. Even the sentimental reasons of an unrequited love for a supposedly married man could not have held out over practicality for five years.
