I was a troubled teen when I read it and “Alice” helped me realize, that I should face my problems instead of hiding in substance abuse or commit suicide. Both options I considered and both options I’m proud to say, I’ve never tried. Fiction or nonfiction, the issues are x and the story should be respected as such.
I’m sure I’m not the only reader who believes, that characters don’t have to be real to make an impact. Lists with This Book.
Pregúntale a Alicia
This book is not yet featured on Listopia. I am shocked to see so many negative reviews. Go Ask Alice had a profound impact on me. I read this book during my sophomore year of high school and it blew my mind.
I gave it to a few friends and they all loved it as well. Whether this is truth or fiction doesn’t matter. It’s a poignant story that every young person should read. View all 63 comments. I first read this book in sixth grade. When I tell people this, they usually look at me in an appalled fashion, and ask prguntale my parents knew I was reading it. And I tell them, yes, my mother knew, before I was even finished with the first entry.
When she saw that I was reading it, she looked at me a moment, then said something along the lines of: Though I suggest that Everyone read this book, I do agree with my mother, that for certain reasons, the reader must be mature enough to digest this true story of a girl, and not mock it or pull its lines to pieces with sayings such as: They must look within the depths of this girl’s words, and try to understand what she was feeling as she wrote them.
Through drugs, befriending a BP, rape, preguntsle horrible circumstances that make you see things differently, this girl pours out her soul to her diary, and eventually, to the world.

In conclusion, I feel that I should make it known that it is not most important to reflect soaly sp? A year after having first read GO ASK ALICE, I was stunned to find that somebody, perhaps the school library, had white-outed many of the words, either curse words, or one’s not ‘deemed fit’ for the student to read.
And I couldn’t help but wonder, if they are going to alter the story in such a fashion, why not just pull the books off the shelf intirely, because with things ‘censored’ out, what use is the book then, without its full impact and meaning?

I read this on a weekend church retreat with kids from the youth group I was not a part of or familiar with but forced to join by my parents. I was shy and awkward and those little fuckers kept giving me a hard time about the title of what I was reading.
It was such a horrible two days pdeguntale I still recall the entire experience pretty vividly. I loved this book and, despite the ridicule I put up with, I was grateful for an escape. Go Ask Alice totally scared the shit out of me though and I vowed I read this on a weekend church retreat with pregguntale from the youth group I was not a part of or familiar with but forced to join by my parents.
Go Ask Alice totally scared the shit out of me though and I vowed to myself that I would never ever experiment q drugs. I also vowed to never go back to church. I kept true to only one of those vows. I wonder if this book was actually a girl’s diary or just some war-on-drugs propaganda? View all 6 comments. You will never forget her. I read this book in middle school and I remember loving it, being changed by it.
I read it within a day and vowed never to try drugs and till this day I haven’t. Maybe this book is fake but I don’t aliciaa, I would make my kids read it when I have kids.
I know it has gotten low ratings and reviews but this book stuck with me, and I have to respect that. I read this book as a teenager in the 70s. I can even remember checking it out of the Frederick Library like it was yesterday. It was a book that I couldn’t put down and read it quickly.
Pregúntale a Alicia: El diario íntimo de una joven drogadicta
It really left me with lots to think about. Things that have stuck with me through the years. Sad but I still think it was a very memorable story. The song, White Rabbit, still gives me chills when I hear it since I immediately think of this book.
Even though this book wasn’t perfect in so many ways, I’m so glad I read it. It has helped me appreciate the life I have and has given me a small glimpse of the pain my ancestors have gone through with drugs.
I have a lot of things against this book but it doesn’t matter because it changed me for the better and that’s why I read. Go Ask Alice did that. Well, this is the best diary that i have read by far. After I read it I realized why so many loved this book. The part I remember the most is when Alice barely goes back to school after running away. I believe that this book speaks to a lot of people. I think that it was published to help save people from drugs before it is too late.
Alice was an excellent student that lost her life to drugs. She was an outgoing person that took life day by day. Alice was not a bad person or trouble-maker she was just a girl put in to the wrong situation at the wrong time. Well, I honestly feel bad for Alice. At the beginning of her diary she talks about saving her virginity for Roger the love of her life. Towards the middle of the diary you start to see that the drugs begin to actually control Alice.
So, when she is stoned she just throws her virginity away. Alice’s love life is far from perfect. After losing her virginity to Billy she started dating a gay drug dealer.
That isn’t the sad part. There are many interpretations for the title of this diary. The most reasonable explanation for this is what she thought the diary. In the diary Alice was known for pushing drugs. So if people wanted drugs they would “go ask Alice”. Well, that is all I have to say about this book right now. If you have any questions or comments please write back. If I had to rate this book on a scale from I would rate it a I would probably rate it a ten for many reasons.
One of the reasons would probably be because this book speaks to ALL types of people.
