The first four parts of Sinfonia are obviously very different one from the other. You will always find something new, I promise. This week, Luciano Berio’s Sinfonia. Composed for the New York Philharmonic originally in as a four-movement workbut expanded to five movements the year after, Berio’s Sinfonia takes as its starting point the sinfonja, buried in the deep history of the symphony, of “sounding together”.

The overall form of the piece is an arch form with elements of the first movement betio in the fifth and connections between the second and fourth.
